Fruit Curious
I have an odd relationship with fruit. For a while, we tried to make it work. People kept telling us […]
What’s The Scoop — Events. Mostly current. Ish. If you’re looking for click-bait you’re on the wrong site. We focus on things that actually might help you be more informed about the world.
Wonktopia — Things usually aren’t all that complicated, but they can be complex. We deserve to know about the systems that rule our lives. We do our best to explore topics such as for-profit healthcare, “trickle-down economics,” and government in straightforward and clear language.
Isms and Isn’ts — The USA is a deeply socialist country, it’s just socialism for corporations and the incestuous cult of mediocre elites that serve them. By asking how we got here, where we could be going, and what we might do to shape the future, we delve into different social, political, and cultural forces and movements.
Read, Watch, Listen… Or Don’t — Whether released last week or thousands of years ago, we tend to think film, television, games, music, theater, and literature are either 1) total shit, 2) pretty good and worth your time, or 3) pure genius. We talk almost exclusively about categories 2 and 3 though if we come across something popular that’s particularly odious (e.g. Hillbilly Elegy) we’ll probably explain why.
(Un)Healthy Living — Sanity, normality, health… these are cultural constructs. While we don’t even play medical professionals on TV, we nonetheless talk about feeling ok, feeling not ok, and feeling ok about feeling not ok.
In Our Own Words — Creative pieces, philosophical excursions, academic gemstones, and other shit we’ve written. One hundred percent guaranteed to be legible.
The Good Stuff — We all deserve at least a little joy, no matter how mundane or trivial. Let us tell you about some products and experiences that have made our lives a little better or slightly more fun.
